unique collection at the Westergasfabriek
A Perfect Day is a collection of art in the form of drawings with text, with observations, thoughts and ideas about life, funny, clever, poetic, ironic and hilarious. A Perfect Day includes the work of more than 50 international artists. The exhibition takes place from 10 to 24 February 2012 in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. The Show has been extended for two days, saturday 25th and sunday 26 th of February from 11:00 – 17:00.
A Perfect Day is the continuation of the Apexart exhibit called ‘Lots of Things Like This‘ that took place in 2008 in New York. An exhibition curated by Dave Eggers, author of ‘Whats the What’ and founder of the publishouse McSweeney’s. A Perfect Day will show a large group of pieces that were shown at the Apexart collection (for example Raymond Pettibon, Leonard Cohen, David Shrigley), supplemented with works from Dan Perjovschi, Dave Eggers, Jonathan Borofsky, Ian Stevenson en Richard Prince and the Dutch artists Gummbah, Koen Taselaar, Bert Mebius, Jeroen de Leijer, 75b, Claudie de Cleen en Marijn van Kreij. Now more than ever you can see anywhere in the world an art form consisting of images and text and, above all, humor. Today you see writers, cartoonists, graffiti artists, poets, songwriters, stage and film makers and artists around the world – in some cases, their main task – working with these elements. Westergasterrein Amsterdam
The exhibtion was located at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. This beautiful city park, with historic factory buildings surrounded by expanses of green, also has workplaces, venues for large and small events, and a broad range of catering, film, theatre and exhibition facilities.
